We have a three day weekend here this week in honor of Queen Elizabeth’s birthday. It’s not actually the Queen’s Birthday though as that falls in April, but Australians being lovers of the long weekend and already having a surfeit of them in April, we decided that we’d honor the day in June. June 10th as a matter of fact. So the Monday closest to that date is always set aside as a holiday.
Not that the queen really gets much more than a passing nod as we take advantage of the last of the warm weather to have a barbie (cookout) or hit the beach, or just laze around watching football or soaking up the sun (provided there is any).
Me? I’ve been playing around on the webmonkey.com website, trying to relearn how to use CSS in my website. It’s a challenge. I never believed that old saw about how our brains tend to lose the ability to retain and recall knowledge after a certain age–until last night when I started fooling myself that I could learn this stuff!
I did a bit better with recalling what I’d learned today, so I think I am about ready to move past the first three lessons and start getting into the really interesting stuff.
Coding at my age. Who woulda thought?
